Forced to leave her home in Germany after a stupid act of courage, Dina comes to America. A simple, lovely depiction of 1871 Brooklyn and the German immigrant's struggle to forget the old country and make life anew. Wonderful on audio, as well.
Never have I read a more genuine tribute to our teenage years. Jocelyn, forever hungry for the attention of her cruel friend Gabe or the girls in her class or even God, finds her place finally with a quirky friend and a troubled boyfriend. Just as it comes together, Gabe disappears and our Jocelyn must confront her fears, ask questions and act. Fabulous.
Willis and Ross team up to take on the racket of the world. The voice of a wee shrew is struggling to quiet the world for just one minute. The result is, of course, peace. Marvelous.
