Thank you to NESCBWI for inviting Deborah Sloan & Company and Curious City to talk to authors and illustrators about “Working with a Book Marketing Consultant.” It was delicious to hear about Deborah’s services and to meet her clients, author/illustrator Patricia Intriago and author, Deborah Heiligman.
The unexpected delight came from the prep and delivery of Curious City’s history, mission, and projects. Out of the chatter on the snow-bound, sun-scorched road trip, the downstairs Northampton curry dinner, and the Eric Carle Museum exchange of marketing ideas, I came to understand how deeply Cathryn Falwell and Anne Sibley O’Brien have collaborated with and supported Curious City since day one.
Here’s to two women who care deeply for their craft and for the way it feeds children and in turn feeds them. The creative mind is a very hungry caterpillar indeed.
What a great day and a wonderful showing from you and your authors! I’d heard Annie speak years ago–such a joy to hear her again. She is so full of joy (and talent). Love it! 😉 And, Cathryn’s art is beautiful–love those kits!
