Patsy’s Book Party, a set on Flickr.

My former English professor, dear friend, and stunning poet Patsy Cumming recently gifted me her collection of children’s books from her youth and from her daughters’ childhoods.

Children’s book illustrators, Jamie Hogan and Mary Anne Lloyd joined me to sort through the titles and to spirit away their favorites into the night.

  1. What fun! I like “Do you take sugar in your tea?”

  2. I was in a writers group with Patsy years ago that was started by Carl Rogers. I always loved her poetry. Also her utter disregard for convention and her generous spirit. You are lucky to have her as your friend.

    • Judi, you have described her perfectly. She is both a mother, friend, and teacher to me.
